Huchuy Qosqo 3Days/2Nights
Day 1 Cusco – Tambomachay – Huchuy Qosqo
The tour will begin with an early morning pick up from your hotel, at 6.30 am, to drive straight to Tambomachay (3800 m.a.s.l.). The day’s hike will start at this point, and will continue through the highlands landscape and over the Sicllaccasa Pass at 4020m/13186ft. Descending down the other side, we will hike along a path that leads to the Ccauca ravine, where we'll encounter archaeological remains and wild crops, such as tarwi, and a large quantity of cactus. We continue on to the Queullococha pass at 4185m/13727ft, to enjoy views of the lake with the same name. Surrounding the area the massive mountains, Veronica, Pitusiray, Chicon and San Juan snow-capped mountain range.
Continuing the path, we will walk past the Queullococha Lake, where we may see huallatas, ducks and small fish, then we'll climb towards the Challu Challu pass at 4220m/13842ft. From this point, we observe the Chinchero plateau and the Piuray and Qoricocha lagoons. We then ascend towards the fourth pass at Rumicruz at 4230m/13874ft and enjoy a panoramic view of the Qoricocha and the Vilcanota snow capped range. Here we rest and have lunch. Then we make our way to the Inca quarry at 4220m/13842ft, which was the place from where the stones to build Huchuy Qosqo were extracted. Finally, we'll descend towards the beautiful remote Andean pueblo of Pukamarca at 4010m/13153ft, stop and have a short break.
As we get back on the move, we will walk downhill into a mystical ancient path, towards the Leon Punku ravine, where we will find several Inca bridges and trails. This canyon is absolutely magical and boasts geological formations surrounded by majestic rocks and boulders that direct the river to Huchuy Qosqo at 3600m/11808ft, where we will soon be arriving. Upon our arrival to the ruins in the evening, we will actually continue past the ruins and to our accommodations for the night. We will have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 2 Huchuy Qosqo - Lamay
Huchuy Qosqo is an Inca archaeological complex which is perched precariously on the side of a mountain with imposing architecture that includes a large open ceremonial center, from which we can enjoy an amazing panoramic view of the Sacred Valley, the Vilcanota River, and the snow capped mountain range of the same name. While in the complex, we will receive a guided tour as we make our way around the ruins after which we continue our way to Lamay at 3000m/9840ft. Lamay is a town dedicated to agriculture and cattle raising. Later in the afternoon, our private transport drives us to Ollantaytambo, where we will board an afternoon train wagon to Aguas Calientes. The train ride to get there is on a absolutely gorgeous route, renowned the world round for its’ beauty. Upon your arrival, you will be shown to your hotel.

Day 3 Machu Picchu - Cusco
After enjoying an early morning breakfast at our hotels, you will board the earliest bus up to Machu Picchu. The first bus leaves at about 5:30 am and arrives to the remains about 30 minutes later. You will be able to explore around a bit before taking part in your 2 and a half hours guided tour to the site, as your guide explains to you about the rich history of the site as he shows you around. Afterwards, you will have time to explore on your own, before catching the afternoon train from Aguas Calientes to Cusco at about 5:05 (earlier for the Vista Dome). We arrive to Poroy at approximately 8:00 pm. We will have staff personnel waiting to assist and bring you back to your hotel in Cusco city.
