MAGIC CUSCO 5 DAYS 4 NIGHTSDAY 1: CUSCO / CITY TOUR:
Reception at the airport transfer to the hotel free time available to resting to avoid altitude sickness. In the afternoon the trip will start with the visit of the Koricancha temple , The Main Square or Plaza de Armas, The Cathedral and continue to visit the Inca sites: The Sacsayhuaman fortress, strategically built on a hill overlooking Cusco and is famous for its enormous carved stones, some of them standing over 9m/30ft tall and weighing over 350 tons, set together with astounding precision to form the outer walls. Most important mystical centre from the Inkas era, Qenqo, the military control centre Puca pucara and the water temple of Tambomachay. Return to the hotel and free night. DAY 2: CUSCO / SACRED VALLEY OF THE INKASThis day we make a trip to the Sacred Valley of the Inkas: visit the Pisac inca city, the colorful Andean market and the church. Then we'll pass through places like Lamay and Calca on the way to arrive at Urubamba town where we'll stop for lunch. After lunch visit the Ollantaytambo town, where we can see its typical streets, the impressive archaeological buildings and agricultural terraces, not to mention the splendid views over the Sacred Valley. Finally, visit the picturesque Andean village of Chinchero where the royal hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui is. You can admire the well preserved Inca wall facing the Main Square, and visit the beautiful colonial temple. Built on Inca foundations with interesting paintings. Overnight in Cusco. DAY 3: CUSCO - MACHU PICCHU
Pick up at the hotel to board the train for a full day tour to the Magical citadel of Machupicchu, it is 112 Km. from Cusco. During the journey we'll see the Urubamba canyon, Urubamba River and the snow capped peaks of the Veronica Mountain. Arriving in Aguas Calientes we'll go to Machupicchu where we will visit this wonderful Inca Sanctuary also known as "The lost City of the Incas “one of the best known examples of surviving Inca arquitecture, in this place you can see the main plaza, the circular tower, the sacred sundial (the most important preserved intihuatana), the royal quarters and much more. After the visit, we'll go back to Aguas Calientes to board the train that will bring us back to Cusco. Transfer al hotel DAY 04: MARAS & MORAY (MARAS SALT MINES)We leave Cusco early in a private bus and head across the "Pampa de Anta" at the small village of Chincheros. From this place we'll start our hike. Along the way we can enjoy spectacular views of the Vilcabamba mountain range and the Salcantay Mountain at more than 20,240 feet (6,200 mts.) above sea level. After 3 hours aprox. We will arrive to Maras village and the age-old salt wells that were built in pre-Inca times and during the Inca domination, the wells furnished salt to the whole empire. Then we continue on to the Moray Amphitheatre, once the site of an agricultural experimentaL center in Inca times. We finally reach Maras and descend to the Sacred Valley of the Incas at the village of Tarabamba where we'll catch the bus back to Cusco. DAY 05:- Continental breakfast. - Transfer hotel. - airport.
